Great Experience

Posted by vedafaye444 on 9/24/2009

I recently decided to chop all my hair off. i was totally freaked out, but i scheduled my appt. with someone i've never been to before. i did locks of love, which costs me about 10 inches of hair, but because it's for a good cause i figured it was the best way to go. I got one of the cutest haircuts! i get so many compliments on it. i was very hesitant, not only about chopping my hair off, but going to someone new too. i love my hair and highly recomment this place

Keratin Treatment by copolla

Posted by KatyHannah2034 on 6/2/2009

Last Saturday I got one of their new Keratin treatment by Chelsey. It's the BEST thing that's ever happened to my hair. I sound like a hair commercial, but seriously I have super frizzy hair, especially in the summer time. The keratin treatment has SAVED my hair. Granted the fact it's $300, but it's worth every penny. It also takes like 3 hours and I couldn't wash my hair for 72 hours (which sucked), but the results are totally worth it. I dont have to worry about my hair being frizzy AT ALL!! Literally I can just blowdry my hair, ( without a brush) and walk out the door, whereas before I was flat ironing EVERYDAY!! Not only do I save time in the morning getting ready, but my hair feels and looks superhealthy. No lies, this is the best thing ever!

Best in town

I've been in Charleston for over 10 years and have never had such a good experience. I've been to all the salons, Stuart Lawrence, Stella Nova, etc. All of which were good, but I never felt like I got the attention I deserved. I'll pay top dollar for someone to make my hair look, even, well..."decent." Cosmotique is small, but it's super fun, you're always enterained, and they do great work. They make you feel at home and make you look and feel beautiful. My hair hasn't looked this good in ages. I'm so happy that i've told all my friends. They have a referral program if you refer 3 friends (they have to bring in the persons business cards) you get a free Paul Mitchell product which is awesome! Chelsea was my stylist and she's great. I was a little skeptical at first because she's YOUNG! but she did a great job and pays attention to detail. Overall, I was very happy and would recommend Chelsea. The other girls, (2 other stylists) looked really talented too. All the clients that walked out the door looked really good. Give them a try!!

A La Carte Salon That Must Be Asked About Pricing

Posted by mysteryshopper3 on 10/10/2008

This is a salon that charges per service, which can be an advantage if used correctly. I tried this salon and was not informed of the additional cost of the shampoo and blow-drying (an additional $30), though it was offered to me. A current client of the salon had misinformed me that the $35 hair cut included the shampoo and blow-dry. When I talked with management after I was charged $65 for a shampoo, trim and blow-dry, no refund was offered. They stated that they felt their prices were comparable to similar salons, though my research indicated that there was only ONE other "boutique salon" in the area that charges that amount - and only their top stylist charged that much. They further indicated that most of their clients are repeat long-term clients so their stylists are not accustomed to discussing pricing with new clients. The stylist I had KNEW that I was a first-time client and did not indicate to me that the EXTRA service she was offering would cost me an extra $30. Pros of this salon include parking and a cute boutique attached.

Al a Carte - MAKE SURE YOU ASK FOR PRICES before you are served

The pros of this salon are that they are have an adorable boutique with one-of-a-kind gifts attached, they are friendly, and the cut I got was what I asked for, however, the underhanded and undisplayed pricing created a less than optimal experience for me. Based on further research, I will, in the future if I desire to spend more than $40 on a haircut, try the Aveda Salon in downtown Charleston that is a "no-tipping" salon that charges only $50 for a shampoo, cut, style, blow-dry and neck and head massage.
