The Heyward-Washington House, built in 1772, is named after the original owner of the house, signer of the Declaration of Independence Daniel Heyward, and George Washington, who was temporary a guest in 1791. Today, the residence is home to an astonishing array of locally crafted furniture, including the immensely valuable Holmes Bookcase. The house is located in the downtown Historic District of Charleston, a few blocks west of Waterfront Park.

Adults $10; Children (3-12) $5; Children 2 and under are free.
