Imaginative and diverse play environments created specifically for children under 12 years of age fill the rooms of the Children's Museum of the Lowcountry, providing a safe, fun place for children and families to interact and create. Divided into eight main exploratory areas, the museum offers entertaining areas like a shrimping boat complete with net and steering controls, a Medieval-inspired castle and costume area and a craft area filled with art projects and activities. Set on the northern edge of downtown, the museum is close to the Charleston Museum, which explores local history.
